My story began with a love of art, fashion, and design. At five, my older sister and I created our own fashion books, filling the pages with clothing we imagined. By nine, I was sewing. That early creativity eventually led me to study business and fashion.
What began in childhood grew into a career designing and sewing clothing, creating costumes, and developing and creatively directing fashion shows. As I experienced how deeply personal image influenced the wardrobe, I expanded my education to include color analysis, body shape, wardrobe, and personal style. I later designed garments for performing artists and worked as a stylist for a local television show.
I eventually felt God leading me to leave the design and traditional image-consulting fields to establish In His Image Ministries for women who had experienced abusive relationships. The ministry was grounded in the truth that God created and cares for the whole woman—spirit, soul, and body. Image consulting became a practical way of helping women reconnect with all three.
Working with these women changed the way I understood image consulting. Color and clothing were often only the starting point. The conversations usually went much deeper—to identity, confidence, painful experiences, and the beliefs women had developed about themselves. I began to see how God could use even the outward parts of a woman’s life as part of a much deeper work of healing and restoration.
Five years after establishing In His Image Ministries, I realized that every woman has experienced something that has eroded her confidence or self-esteem—not only women who have survived significant trauma. Believing God was expanding the work to include all women, I created The Complete Makeover Course so that any woman could experience a whole transformation, followed later by The Battle 4 Beauty.
Throughout these years, I continued working personally with women in their closets, providing image-consulting services while also teaching The Complete Makeover Course and The Battle 4 Beauty. These one-on-one experiences and shared classroom conversations gave me an intimate understanding of women’s relationships with their clothing, their bodies, and the stories they carried into the mirror.
I later returned to my earliest creative roots in sewing and clothing design when I opened Annie’s Sew & Style Studio. There, I taught women to sew their own clothing and style their wardrobes. This season brought together the skills that shaped my early career with the deeper understanding of women, clothing, and personal image I gained through decades of experience.
For more than three decades, each season of my life and work has grown naturally from the one before it. Today, I bring that lifetime of education, creativity, ministry, and experience to my work as an author, holistic image consultant, and creative director.

I believe every woman carries clues to her unique, God-given design.
Color, shape, personality, gifts, experiences, creativity, and even the way we naturally express ourselves all point toward something intentional. They are not our identity, and they are not the destination. They are signposts that can help us recognize and honor the woman God created us to be.
That understanding became the foundation for my DNA Style™ Method—Design. Nature. Authentic.
Design begins with what God has already placed within us.
Nature recognizes the physical characteristics, rhythms, preferences, and patterns that make each woman distinct.
Authenticity begins to emerge when we stop trying to become someone else and learn to live and express ourselves from a place of truth.
Because freedom doesn't come from becoming someone else.
It comes from living in greater alignment with who God created you to be.
What I've Learned
After decades of working with women, I have learned that the mirror is rarely just reflecting clothing.
It can reveal the beliefs we have carried, the ways we have learned to see ourselves, the comparisons we have made, and sometimes a woman we have almost forgotten how to recognize.
That is why color and style have never been the destination for me.
They are tools.
They can help us notice what harmonizes with our natural design. They can teach us to look more carefully. And sometimes, something as practical as discovering the right color can become an unexpected invitation to see ourselves with greater clarity.
But clothing cannot give us an identity.
God already has.
Our worth is not determined by our appearance, our age, our size, our accomplishments, or how successfully we put ourselves together.
We begin from a different place: knowing that we were intentionally created and that our lives find their meaning in Him.

Today, my writing explores that intersection of faith, identity, color, style, design, and everyday life. Through books, reflections, practical tools, and small-group conversations, I invite women to look beyond formulas and comparison and toward something more enduring.
To see clearly.
To recognize what God has already placed within them.
To honor their design rather than fight against it.
And to discover beauty not as something they have to achieve, but as the evidence of a life increasingly aligned with truth.
